SCHOOL DESCRIPTION
Excelsior @ Guadalupe Child Development Center is a licensed, full-time – Monday through Friday, year-round program located in the Crocker Amazon District. The center provides full day services for pre-school children, and before and after school services for the school age students during school days. On holidays, the center provides full day whole child. Thus, we work with Social Workers, Mental Health Consultants and health professionals, in meeting the needs of the children. We provide a secure, nurturing environment and stimulation toward the optimum growth of the children. We provide a healthy balance of large and small muscle activities, indoor and outdoor play, cognitive and social learning, quiet and active time, and good nutritious meals and adequate rest.
Excelsior @ Guadalupe CDC is a Literacy-based center and uses the Letter People curriculum for the preschool children and Kidzlit curriculum for the school-age children. Other literacy enrichment programs used by the site include: bookmobile, KQED First Book program and Raising a Reader program.
