Students from low-income
families attending NCLB Program Improvement schools may be eligible for
Supplemental Educational Service (SES). SES is
an after school program that may include tutoring, remediation, and other
educational interventions delivered by a state-approved provider chosen by
the parent/guardian. Parents of eligible students are strongly encouraged
to apply so that their child receives this additional support to improve
their child’s reading and/or math skills. This service is FREE. There
is no financial obligation on the part of families. The district will
pay for these services with its Title I funds. However, parents have
the responsibility of selecting the provider for their child. For assistance
in the selection of a provider, please ask the school principal before making
the decision.
Below are the forms that were sent home to parents/guardians of eligible
students, including the Parent Request for Supplemental Educational Services
Form. The application must be completed and returned to the student’s
school by the November 24, 2008.
