There are multiple options available to families who participated in Round 1. A description of these options is provided below.

• REGISTER at the school of assignment by March 27, 2009 to accept the offer.

• ATTEND AN INFORMATIONAL COUNSELING SESSION to learn more about available school options. Evening and weekend counseling sessions have been scheduled centrally throughout the city.

Post Round One Counseling Sessions

Question: What is an informational counseling session?

Answer: If your child received a school assignment offer that you did not request and you want to explore other school choices, you can attend an SFUSD informational counseling session. The informational counseling sessions will give you the opportunity to receive additional information about other SFUSD schools options available to you.

Question: Can I keep my assignment offer while I review other school choices during the counseling period?

Answer: YES, if you participate in a counseling session, you will be able to keep your non-requested assignment offer during the counseling period.

• SUBMIT AN AMENDED CHOICES APPLICATION by March 27, 2009 to request an assignment to additional school choices with openings. Please click here to get the Amended Choices Application Form.

Amended requests will be processed as a priority cohort in Round 2. If any requests can be granted, offers will be mailed to parents/guardians on May 1, 2009 and parents/guardians will have until May 15, 2009 to register at the school to accept the offer. Amended choices will not be reviewed after Round 2.

• SUBMIT A WAITING POOL REQUEST.
