Sheridan is located in the Oceanview-Ingleside District and serves preschool through fifth grades. We offer a computer lab, Music, Nutrition, Art, Dance, Physical Education and performances in our new theater style auditorium. The YMCA After School Program serves students first through 5th grade. Sheridan's staff is committed to its mission, which states, "Every student will develop to his/her fullest academic, physical, emotional, and ethical potential.

Sheridan Named #1 Reading First School in the State

Sheridan school has been hard at work these past three years and the hard work is paying off. We have received two awards this school year and we are very proud.

Our first award is from the California Department of Education and it was given for gaining the highest rank on the California Reading First Achievement Index. This means that out of over 800 Reading First schools in the state of California, Sheridan ranks number one. This is an incredible accomplishment.

Our second award is just at prestigious. We have been named a Title 1 Academic Achievement Award School. This means that we have met or exceeded our API and AYP for two years in a row. We are one of 12 schools in the San Francisco Unified School District to receive this important award. Principal Nurje Khalique will be attending Title 1 conference on May 1, 2006 to receive the award.

Our success was achieved though a specific, rigorous, academic program that addressed the needs of all our students. Every person at Sheridan is to be commended for the outstanding work they do every day.
